So, I'm tired of fighting my tanks for more hose on my stage bottles. I'm trying to decide between a 40" or 44" reg hose. I'd like the hose to be long enough to wrap around the back of my head similar to my long hose.

40" should work fine. Just make sure the hose is not fouled in the SPG or twisted or caught up somewhere as this can happen (happned to me) and can make it feel like it is too short.

40" is fine even with 2 stages under the left arm.

If you can't figure it out for your self you should not be diving. What I mean is you have to play with it for yourself. Buy one or two different hoses and dive them. Your body and how your stage/deco bottles sit on you and others is different no one can tell you what leangh is good for you but you. Get out and dive!!!

Yes, but .... I think most use a 40"

If you can make a 40" work then it's much better if you ever travel and have to borrow hoses, regs etc (same thing with being comfortable diving any kind of doubles, or taking an AL80 stage instead of an AL40).

If 40 really will not work then sure try longer, but I am betting 40 will be OK if done "right" (unless the BC or stages are in "non-standard" positions)

SCUBASTEVEN, take your snide remarks to another forum. When talking minor differences (4" in this case) often times those who ACTUALLY do this type of diving will voice pros & cons of each based on experience, comfort & preference. Your ignorance was well displayed, though.
