I used to do the heat trick on the visors of my motocycle helmets; about every other try was a miss.
Back to the G250, you may want to change just the cover, as it's the most visible part. Since it's not considered hazardous to your health, you can probably order it from a dive shop.

Cheers Zung - if I do heat it at all I will be careful, the last thing I want to do is warp the casing in any way - after all at the moment they work fine and it is just cosmetic. - P
