I agree completely with DivemasterDennis. I found the Cenotes to be a bore. I guess I am glad I did them once so that I know what they are all about, but I wont do them again.....ever.

Caves either get you or they don't.

I've been coming down here twice a year since 2007, and I've done one ocean dive, and it was quite enough, thank you. Different strokes for different folks!

I am usually a big fan of anything different and a bit challenging.
I found Coz quite boring to be honest. I just dived there in Nov.
You can do this type if diving in so many places.
It was nice, just not exciting.
Though of course, any day diving is better than any day doing something else!

On the other hand, I loved the Cenotes.
I dived with Cenote Xperience and they made it a fantastic couple of trips.
You don't get dive sites like these very often, or in many places.
Its def worth giving it a go.
Make sure you have a fab guide, as that will make the difference.

Dove a cenote for the first time last week: Dos Ojos. I thought it would be cool to see, but loved it more than I expected. It's very peaceful and awe-inspiring. Much like entering a cathedral. Having said that we went back to the reefs off Akumal and thoroughly enjoyed them too. I love ocean life too much to give up reefs, but I will definitely want to dive many more cenotes. Enjoy the variety.
