Reducing the length of my DSMB

The half ass way you want to deploy it at a shallow depth will not work no matter how much you try or wish it could. Even Paul Bunion squeezing Big Blue, could not blow enough into it fast enough before it wants to get away. The only way to get enough air into it, by blowing into it, is to ride it up or dump to negative and ride it down,,,, because you ain't going to stay neutral.

I suggest you go back to the deployment methodology and perfect that, as with all skills, and your problem goes away....,.....You can even use an 8 footer doing it the RIGHT way. That is what everyone is saying, you are just not listening.
 
Were you afraid the valve would roll on? I do stow mine so the little cylinder is on the inside of the roll, but the valve is pretty stiff....

Whatever, to each their own. That particular SMB is a gear solution to a skills problem. Just what the OP asked for.

Yes, just the thought of a roll-on. Small chance, minuscule, but 'another thing' to consider.

The worst... I had a CO2 cartridge DSMB (can't remember the brand).. that was more worrying..
