Does anyone know about the Red Tide conditions for Venice Beach, or for St. Petersburg Beach Reef? Unfortunately, the military has called me out of Florida, but I'll be back in the St. Petersburg area for a little bit in September. I'd like to take my brother on a shark tooth dive, but we don't want to have to dodge dead fish. Please advise. Thanks!

Was out Sunday, saw only 2 dead fish in the water.
Didn't notice any dead stuff along the beach.
There was no red tide smell that I noticed either.
The vis was about 3' with a layer of silt over everything from the beach renourishment.

I was off of Venice Beach on Saturday, and I didn't notice a thing. The boat captain, Steve Thacker, mentioned the lack of fish was due to the red tide they had... Diving was great on Saturday.
