Hi!

Will be in the Ft Lauderdale area over 4th of July weekend and figured I would get a few dives in too.

Any recommendations with respect to dive boats operating out of the Ft Lauderdale area? (Did a few dives with Pro Dive in Ft Lauderdale a few years ago, but would prefer a smaller, less crowded boat).

Cheers!

Pro Dive closed its doors for the last time in February this year.

If you're specifically looking for six-pack boats, there's two nice ones in Pompano (15 minutes north of Fort Lauderdale), the Avid Diver and the Miss Conduct. Even when full, you won't feel crowded.

I always have a good time withParrot Island Scuba (also in Pompano) and American Dream II that runs from the Hyatt Pier 66 in Ft. Laud.

Word to the wise, book your trips today, otherwise you could find most of the popular boats already full.

I'll second the American Dream II. A larger boat, but I've never heard of them booking every single seat on it. Not because they can't, but because they won't.

Will they still be going out in September?
If so, which will be more flexible with tech divers?

Hi Dew,

I only dove in Ft. Lauderdale twice, but I went with Safari Divers and I can really recommend it. Really relaxed, good briefing etc.

Cheers,
D.

Just checked their website. Looks promising. I'll give them a call. Thanks.

I strongly recommend American Dream II boat. Captain and crew are great. They usually do a wreck and drift dive combo.
