BLACK FRIDAY

Our large capacity bag is on sale over this Black Friday weekend.

All my tropical dive gear for travel goes in an old leather bottom backpack my son used at university. 3 mil fullsuit, 2 masks, reg set, Air Travel bcd, 2 computers, smb, compass, 2 lights. My Superchannel fins are way too long, so they go in the checked bag with our clothes, her snorkel gear and other stuff. She hauls a spinner carry on bag that we check anyway. That way we minimize the amount of carry on to my gear and her purse.
For our non dive trips, no carry ons other than her purse, (It's big enough to carry our tablets and any crucial items)

Hi. Scanning Amazon, I see SO many different equipment bags with a wide swath of ratings to hold all of ones diving gear: wet suit, mask, boots, BCD, Fins, Regulators etc, that its hard to decide. I'd sure welcome any recommendations from divers? Thanks in advance.

What guides my choices in equipment is something my Basic instructor said, "Buy your equipment as if your life depends on it, because it does". That being said, only easily replaceable things should go in the bag in case the airline loses it. Expensive regulators and computers should be ca

Where you intend to go can be a major issue when you buy the bag. Expensive things like regulators and computers should be carry-on's so they don't get knocked around by baggage. You should also keep spare parts (i.e, spare o-rings, etc.) in the bag since they might not be available where you are going. Everything to support your dive needs to be in the bag or carry-on's regardless of where you go.

On the boat I use a drawstring mesh dive - buy a heavy duty mesh if possible. I normally do not put my BC in it as it is either attached to a tank or is inflated to dry after diving.

For air travel, I use an LL Bean duffle with wheels. Because my mask, regs, computers, lights, and some clothes go in my carryon, I can pack the rest of my clothes, etc in the duffle bag.

While I have a few regulator bags, I think they are overrated and rarely use them. Regs either go in my carry-on in between clothes or they are in the middle of my duffle bag inside a BC or wetsuit.

All of the above and $1 will get you a cup of coffee.

I have an Osprey Shuttle 30" bag. This bag is built very well and easy to roll. Its pricey but has a lifetime guarantee and is lightweight but you've got to be careful not to overpack, it's got that much room. I can get all of my gear in there and fold up my mesh bag to take on the boat. I don't use a regulator bag, I place it inside of my BC and lay my reef shirt over it then clip the buckles. Of course, I take my computer and camera in my backpack.
