Got some Homeland Security $$$$$ coming.

Looking for recomendations on portable compressors.

Either Gas or 220 (we have a generator).

We have eight divers on our team.

What else do you need to know? You folks probably know more about what I may need and what is available, so fire away!

Jeff

My first question would be, what are your expectations for turn-around time per bottle? Most small portables range between 22 to 30 minutes for an 80 at 500 psi.

If you are considering electric, what size is your generator? On single phase 220v, a 3hp motor requires a minimum of 8Kw to start it and a 5hp would require a minimum of 20Kw for the same voltage.

With 3.5 scfm, an 80 is going to take about 22-23 minutes to fill. Are you sure you would be happy with that kind of turn-around time?

Craig

Yah, your right.

Let see..... I don't have my tables with me.

80ft on and 80 a team would have about 20 min.

So I would need two at a time for 20 min. But that is not a totally empty tank either?!?!

Is 5-7cfm unreasonable???

I haven't started shopping. As you can see I really don't even know what we truly need.

That is why I am here asking.

Jeff

Forget the mickey mouse generators and 3.5 cfm compressors. You need a military type, Bauer transportable compressor, 6 cfm, Diesel engine. One of these was on EBay and the auction ended yesterday. I believe the asking price was $4500. It was offered by an outfit in Florida and will probably show up again.
