Just a quick heads up for our English speaking expats over here. I've recieved a couple of querries, and I can now, happily say, that I found a decent shop in Nagoya. They actually have a good stock and you can try things on, etc. Pretty good prices (for Japan). Some items are reasonable, some are Japanese prices (x300%). Like I said, you can try things on. Mic21 in Sakae near the NTT building took care of me on my basic kit. They even speak a bit of English for the Japanese-impaired (a bit). I think they've got a few stores in Japan but I live in Nagoya, so who cares?! Hope that helps someone.
