Mythbusters actually took a set of implants embedded in ballistic gel and an immersed in a measuring cup of water and played around with them in both a pressure chamber and a vacuum chamber.Dr Deco:Hello citygal:
During decompression, there is the slight possibility that gas bubbles could form and the implants get bas bubble formation. This has been tested and it was not found to occur.
Dr Deco :doctor:
They did show some bubbles and slight expansion at 33,000 feet of altitude, but the bubbles were reabsorbed on "landing".
(They blew a seal on the pressure chamber without damage to the implant).
