Dr Deco:
Hello citygal:
During decompression, there is the slight possibility that gas bubbles could form and the implants get bas bubble formation. This has been tested and it was not found to occur.
Dr Deco :doctor:
Mythbusters actually took a set of implants embedded in ballistic gel and an immersed in a measuring cup of water and played around with them in both a pressure chamber and a vacuum chamber.

They did show some bubbles and slight expansion at 33,000 feet of altitude, but the bubbles were reabsorbed on "landing".

(They blew a seal on the pressure chamber without damage to the implant).

Thanks so much for your very helpful reply. Next question- is there a place in Manhattan you would recomend for prelim classes? I don't just want to pick a random off the internet...
Try Pan Aqua. They have been in business for some time now and I know the course director there-Peter . If you can get to Yonkers NY,about 10-15 minutes from NY I teach out of Scuba NY.Advantage at Scuba NY is onsite heated pool.No other facility in area has one.If you have schedule problems I can work with ANY schedule you need as I have 24/7 access to classroom and pool.

I'm guessing she's got this covered by now. The post you are replying to is over five years old. Other than that, great advice...Bad SA, but great advice...
