Audrey Cudel's Nano-slides are also a favorite of those who use Sliding Ds.
Try the SumpUK sliders, they are absolutely brilliant with no bungee required.

I also have some low profile Ds from Piranha but unfortunately they haven't been effectively so far.

Do you have any pics of your tanks full at the beginning of the dive vs empty (~50bar) at the end of the dive?
Interested to see how well the single d ring set up works

To be clear, I have two d-rings on each side of me. One move per cylinder throughout the entirety of the dive. In my profile pic here, I have about 175 bar in that right cylinder.

In the below image, I have 65 bar in each cylinder. Two different rigs as the profile pic is my XDeep that I do not dive anymore and the below image is the YuhsinSump (now just Yuhsin) Total Sidemount System which is my current everyday rig.

As for sliding d-rings, if you must use them, I highly recommend the ones from Andrew at Sump UK. They are low profile and do not move unless you want them to move. I even mention and show them in a video I did for the Prana Dive YouTube channel about the Yuhsin Total Sidemount System. You can go to 6:58 where I talk about the fixed and sliding d-rings.

Thanks for all the replies.

Mainly looking for a set up that is a bit easier to take around when I am travelling compared to my Halcyon contour.

The rigidity and bulk of it makes it a PITA when travelling, plus diving the halcyon with Ali’s is a bit cumbersome, have added extra d rings to the waist for moving the cylinders. I know I can get sliding d’s, but my train of thought is get the correct tool for the job. Steel 12’s and one or two stages/deco gas with a dry suit is what I have on the halcyon and it holds it all very well.

Long term aim is to get cave certified, so would like to get a set up and get comfortable in open water, swim throughs etc, understand the set up throughly before I go for that longer term goal (if I ever get there lol)
I have just ordered Razor 4 sidemount system. I have consulted few professional technical divers and instructors like Vas Proud and Steve Martin. I live in Colorado but travel to Mexico for diving, dive locally here and also planning sine Florida trips. I am diving steel LP 50 and 85' as well as aluminum 80'. Dive in wetsuits from 3mm-7mm and drysuit is purchase is in near future. My husband has XDEEP rec wing for his cave diving. My concensus is, if you are properly weighted you really should not need the lift of tech wing especially if you are diving dry. I see people diving with steel 85 with aluminum 80 stages in wetsuit and dry with XDEEP rec and Razor without any issues. I was drawn by the simplicity and streamline design of the Razor. It's lighter and less bulky (less weight needed and easier to travel with). Razor has more weight placement options and tge waist buckle is low profile comoare to XDEEP. It cones with redundant bladder by default and is not as obtrusive as XDEEP redundant system. As I understand, it's little difficult to set up but once you get it dialed in, it fits like a glove. I think you cannot go wrong with XDEEP deep either. In my opinion, their system should not be called rec and tech bug small and large instead.
I am suoer excited to get the Razor set up and dive it. Here is tech and rec wings inflated side by side. I am 5'9 and 145lb and the tech wing wraps around my torso too much.
