Wait - didn't they cover Emergency OOM procedures in your Open Water course?
In the event of an Out-Of-Money emergency, remain calm. Signal your dive buddy that you are out of cash, by first making a sideways pass with one open hand, palm down, followed by placing both fists together at the thumbs, and then rotating both hands down at the pinky fingers, signifying "Flat broke." At this point, you and your dive buddy should clasp forearms, and your buddy should hand you his back-up Visa card. Calmly and safely proceed to the check-out counter, spending normally.
