I was wondering if anyone knows, or has dived Dogwood springs and if it is a sidemount, or no-mount, or if its possible to dive it back mount, is it safe for an Intro to Cave diver to dive it or do you have to be Full Cave? Is there a map of it? Does it have a main line or is it broke? It seems I never hear anyone talk about it so I thought I would ask, I went snorkeling above it and peered inside on day after diving the Ear, looks kind of small. Anyways just curious about it.

Also I will be cave diving, and camping at Ginnie springs with my cousin on Aug 29 - Sept 3 if anyone needs a buddy I would be glad to join them.

as far as i know (which totally isn't very far!), dogwood isn't diveable.

Has anyone dove the Little Devil recently, and Is it divable?

once again i could be totally wrong, but i think little devil starts out no-mount & gets big enough to side mount for a bit then pinches off.

if nobody with more knowledge shows up here, try asking again on cavediver.net

no mount 40 for little devil?

ok, just wondering... has anyone dove the santa fe river too, was it nice? is it like 30-40' deep,
and last i was at Ginnie (July 14-15) the river was flowing over the ear, has it gone back down since? sorry for the sudden jolt of questions, i am getting ready to head there Aug 29 and want to know the conditions etc..

i've done the drift from the devil's run down to twin - very nice! but most of it was less than 20 feet. and we took bags & pulled trash. found some big big women's underpants & lots of sunglasses & beer bottles.

LOL sounds fun, was the viz good?

The hole in Little Devil is so small (if you look at it) that it would be a "small" tank side-mount dive. AND if you look at the GInnie Maps , it turns into no-mount. (EEK).

I remember a snorkeler dying in Dogwood. It was the day I started my Intro class at Ginnie. (MY instructor was on the recovery team). He got in and couldn't get back out. It's sidemount , fer sure.

That's all I know.
I know people on CaveDiverForum would know more.

BTW: Ginnie right now is really nice. Flow is up but the vis is just great :D

Thanks!
Jean

P.S. BabyDuck: Hope to see you down here soon , me thinks !!! :D

I've heard mention of some diving at Dogwood, but at the Intro level you should probably stick to other caves. At best, it might be sidemountable, at worst, no mount. Intro is not allowed to remove gear, and I'm not certain sidemount is allowed either depending on your certifying organization, but I might be wrong. Devil's Eye is a beautiful system, go play in that and save the tight, sidemount cave for when you have more experience and training.

I believe some of the folks at Dive Rite might know more about diving Dogwood, ask on CDF and see if anyone can chime in with more info, but as I said, I'd save it for later even if parts of it were sidemount.
