Was playing with my WAL today when I noticed that I could see the rubber edges of the lens at the very corner of the picture. I then realized that the rubber portion of the lens setup (I guess it's there to protect the lens) can be rotated somewhat. I was then able to rotate it to where it doesn't show up on the picture. Is this normal?

You've probably noticed that the "wings" of the rubber lens hood are longer in one direction than the other. The longer "wings" should be at the top and bottom (if you are holding the camera horizontally). My wide-angle hood can twist somewhat on the lens. You have to watch for the vignetting, or crop your images to eliminate it afterwards.

Thanks. Good thing I found out about this instead of after my trip. I'd hated it if I came back and all my WA pics had the hood in every pic.

On the odd occassion when I can see it I either crop or clone some of the surrounding landscape over the tiny dark corner..
