Scubaboard is in itself the very definition of "Opinion"......whether we discuss our rigs, photography, type of diving, etc. Sure, there are clinical discussions of say...gear, but it's our opinions and different points of view that make us who we are. Which in turn makes this board so helpful. The A & I forum is a sensitive area, but if we shouldn't discuss opinions then why is it there? We rarely, if ever, get the actual details. If I die while diving, I expect it to be discussed, and opinions should be included. Because you probably won't get the autposy report that states exactly what happened.

Most of the posting on this forum, except for actual coroner and police reports, reminds me of articles in the the Saturday Enquirer. Too much conjecture and not enough facts.

when was the last time we had an actual coroner or police report with something more useful than 'drowning'?

This has gotten away from the op-ed purpose, so I'll add a bit here. I would report it in two places, DAN and PADI. I would contact PADI directly via phone, and ask to report this instructor behavior. I'm sure that they have an internal investigative mechanism, and will advise you as to where to go from there. I would also contact DAN as they need to know about incidents as well as accidents, as they are working to keep divers from having problems. The more they know about these things, the better.
