The whale shark season starts May 15 to sept 17. Blue H2o starts tours on June 1 and goes everyday. Blue H2o Cozumel is located on Cozumel. We take the 7am ferry and have a van take us to cancun marina where we depart on boat. 13 years of whale shark tours. we do pickup on the mainland as well.
Is there any chance of seeing whale sharks that first week? Will be in Cozumel/Playa del Carmen that week only.

Which week are you here? Usually there is not many sharks in May which is why most operators start tours in June. Last year we were the only ones who started on opening day and the only reason we did was because of full moon and our chances were very good to see sharks. We were right and saw about 15-20. We didnt do any more tours in May. The remainder of may was slow for sharks. June last year was up and down and not a lot of sharks. we actually stopped running for 5 days because of lack of sharks ( 1!) and you had many boats out there. Wasnt till about mid june that the numbers went up. The full moon this year is around June 4 so should be pretty good around that time as long as the tuny fish are spawning. We have been doing whale sharking for 13 years and have seen many changes with these huge fish.
