If I understand this thread correctly, there is a converter that I can add so I won't have to make the changeover, is that correct?

Sorry if my ignorance is showing through but this is something I never had the need to check in to.

Correct. It is a spin-on and off DIN-to-Yoke adapter. Here's the Dive Rite version:

I would do the analysis more like this: Where will I be diving the most in the next 5 years (arbitraily picked 'life o' the gear')? If you find that this works out so that you will be using the adapter more than 50% of the time, then get a yoke. The adapters are cumbersome and add the dreaded o-ring right back into the system. The DIN is certainly a better design in a number of ways, but it still depends on where you will be diving. I have both DIN and Yoke regs, though the DIN stuff is mostly used on my tec gear.

DIN stands for Deutsche Industrie Norm. Jawohl, German design and bullet proof.
What BS. Don't you think you should get your facts right before going out and teaching people the wrong things? Especially as an instructor? Sheeesh. Unbelievable from someone that lives just across the boarder. :shakehead
DIN stands for DEUTSCHES INSTITUT FÜR NORMUNG.
