I'm looking into getting a digital camera. It is primarily for land use but the one I'm looking at, the Sony DSC-P10, has a housing for underwater use, which I plan to get later on. While doing some research on the internet about this camera, I have come across websites selling this camera much cheaper than my local Best Buy will let it go for.

My question is this. Are these websites basically just the Leisure Pro of photography? ... and by that I mean are they more or less a reliable and reputable source for camera stuff that has found a way to offer the stuff at lower prices much like Leisure Pro has done with scuba gear?...or are they trying to part this fool from his money?....I hope it's the former 'cause I could save about a hunderd bucks on this camera.

Have any of you all ever dealt with these places? If so, how was it?

I'd tell you to go for it. As long as you use a credit card there's not a lot of risk. Make sure it's a new camera when you get it and you should be fine.

I'm a long time user of the Sony's. I've had a DSC-P5 for 2 years now and enjoyed it immensely. I'd get the UW case sooner rather than later if you're diving.
