I have mine on order and expect it this Friday. I have the pro-fit harness and 40lb wing. I have been researching the rigging. What are you using to secure your deflater/inflator hoses to the harness? my traditional jacket BCD had a sewn in velcro strap to secure this. I didn't see it on this harness.

Any other tips will help!

There's a velcro loop on the harness for holding the hose (the deluxe harness). You can move it to either strap depending if you want it crossed or uncrossed.

Alternately, you could tie a bungee loop like the DIR crowd. I just use the velcro loop, but I generally undo it when diving. I like to be able to raise the hose above my head.

It's an awesome rig! I have about 20 dives on mine. It has really changed the way I dive. I think you'll dig it.

yeah, you could either use a rubber strap or a bungee loop around the d-ring.

if you only put your inflator hose (but not the corrugated inflator itself) through
the d-ring, it's a lot easier to vent.

Ok, some follow up questions. Where do you get the bungee? Also, if you disconnect it during a dive, won't it hang down. I don't want to be messy!

With the BC I have now, I only use the dump pulls. My hose is secured, and I never use it to vent (except to pull on it to open the shoulder dump).

I gues I am making some changes!

I got my bungies at Walmart.

What are you going to disconnect during the dive? Not sure I follow you. If you run the hose only through the bungie and leave the other out then you can still raise it easily. No mess.

thanks guys....

humuh said that he removes his from the bungee, so thats what I meant by disconnect.

I guess what I will do is wait until I get it and see how I can set it up. I'll post back with any issues.

I appreciate the input.

Oops! - This is what happens when you post on your own thread using your girlfriend's laptop!! :11:

I'm not sure what you mean by disconnect. The corrigated hose is appropriately short. If you secure it to your shoulder strap at the top of the shoulder you can easily find it, and you can effectly dump with the hose simply by raising it. You will not need to remove it from the restraint.

On the other hand if you dump from the OPV you won't need to raise it at all :D

The Pro-Fit harness is furnished with a velcro restraint, and the Hogarthian harness includes a piece of inner tube. You may want to use a bungie through the dring as others have suggested, the bungie is not part of the kit.

Fair enough! I'm looking forward to getting it. I think I will have a better feel for it once I see it and get it in the water - hopefully this weekend if I get it on time!
