I'm fairly new to scuba. I got certified in Las Vegas last summer. As you probably know there isn't much to see while diving Lake Mead. I was recently in Santa Barbara and I am concidering taking a charter with Truth and Aquatics. If anyone has any info on what this charter service it would be helpful. And if anyone has any tips on what I should ask them or what to expect on a charter feel free to chime in. Thanks for any info.

Try putting this message up on the california section, maybe with the title "Santa Barbara charters?" I cant help beyond pointing you in that direction.

Yes, this should move south.

Anyway, I have not been on their trips, but they do have a good reputation.

Take a peek at the website: http://www.truthaquatics.com/

What (and who) you ask will depend upon whether you are booking through a charter group or on an "open" boat run by the company itself. If you need to rent equipment (tanks, weights) do ask about that. Are you wondering what personal stuff you need to bring with you?

They rent Scubapro equipment through the charter service. I would like to know about anything that is going to make the trip enjoyable. Personal items other thing that might be overlooked by a rookie. thanks
