Rap,

I'm going to make a guess that JESSICA ALBA didn't pay $463 for her Zeagle Zena. And for some reason, I thought Halcyon provided their gear. The pics I have seen from the movie all have the actors in BP/W setups. But I didn't see the movie.

-P

We did send a bunch of gear over for the movie shoot, and rumor has it that Jessica Alba did dive the Zena BC. Obviously they didn't just have one scuba manufacturer send over gear, as both she and Paul Walker dove Halcyon in the movie. Scott Caan wore the Zeagle Scout in all of his filmed scuba dives, as did some of the bad guys. They also used a few different regs, including at least one Zeagle reg that was being used when the "bad guy" got shot in the face with a speargun...:D

And come on, Perrone....would YOU ask Jessica Alba to pay for a BC???? ;)

LOL!!! I wouldn't ask her to pay for anything EVER. And I suspect any man who would would be dismissed quickly.

If I was 10 years younger... (and looked like a model, and had $10M) :D

I tried the Zena and it fit well. I bought the Zeagle Brigade (much like the Stiletto), since it fit just as well, had more attachment points for gear, and wouldn't have the "woman specific" issue when the time comes to get rid of it.

The straps on the Zeagle's unisex models curved toward the shoulders enough to not interfere with my curves. :) The placement of the chest strap was critical to comfort -- too high, I was choking; too low, it was too tight across the chest. I found the right point and all it good.

All said, my unisex Zeagle fits really well and I'm happy with it. The only reason I didn't get the Zena was the girl-only gear impracticality at time of off-loading and fewer hooks for mi tings.

Good luck.

My wife's vote (hands down) was for the Oceanic Isla. She liked the QLR system and the big pockets. She tried several of the other traditional vests mentioned in this thread. Her comments on the plusses and minuses surround the feel of the vest on her shoulders under load and her appreciation for the side adjustable straps (she's thin in the waist and ample in the bosom, so this was a selling point for her). She's not tried back inflation (yet). FWIW - good luck on your choice.

Same thing here. My wife tried the Diva, and did not like the fit. She loves the way the shoulder straps on the Isla can be adjusted depending on the front end curviness of the user, as well as the QLR wight system. Very stable on the surface when inflated.

I use a Diva, both for diving wet and dry. Perhaps she would be happier with a BP & wings? You may want to look at several of the smaller men's BCs that are usually a lot less costly and are fully adjustable. Good luck!

XS/SM size Transpac. Go w/ the Travel wings for your aircell. You'll be able to use it for doubles in the future if you decide to go that route

Well, if Jessica Alba wore it, it must be THE GREATEST PIECE OF DIVING EQUIPMENT IN THE WORLD!!!

Hoo boy...yeah I admit I saw the movie even though I knew it would suck. Mostly I remember free diving and BP/W scenes, but I'm sure more than a little of the reasoning for that was to expose as much of her skin to the camera as possible keeping the PG13 rating, an ingenious marketing ploy, err, artistic decision.

There's a james bond movie with some diving in Greece, can't remember the name of it, but I'm pretty sure they dive with a BP/harness only, no wing. They leave a rig down on the bottom for no apparent reason, then need it later in the movie.

Thunderball is the movie you are referring to I belive.

I am seriously looking for a proper BCD for my wife. We have tried out the seaquest Diva LV but are having a hard time finding other BCD manufacturers for the female body type....................can you help me out??? I h?ave also noticed that the price range for a female BCD is severely inflated (as much as 50 percent more than that of unisex BCDS.....why is this? Your help is most appreciated.

There is the women's version of the SeaQuest Balance, called the Libra.

Thanks for all your information. Has anyone had the opportunity to dive with the DACOR ELITE BCD. It appears to be the one we would like to purchase. Also, where can we purchase this? Does anyone know of a DACOR distributor in Canada or across the border? We are very limited in selection here in Canada. Thanks again everyone.
