This wreck has been dived by quite a few people. But, as far as I know, it hasn't been specifically identified or the circumstances of how it got there uncovered. I've done three dives and quite a bit of research and couldn't do either. Given the size, appearance, and features I'm relatively certain it was a barge that carried quarry rock from Catalina to the mainland. IIRC, the moniker "Yesteryear" is based on what fisherman called the site.

If anybody has additional information, I'd definitely appreciate it. Here is a picture of the most prominent "feature" which I believe is part of a pulley system that would open and close the gates.
