Mission report:

We, the local fire department, were alerted to a lifeless person in the quarry lake on Talbauernweg. At the same time, surrounding water rescue services, rescue services and a rescue helicopter were alerted. Our operations manager used the dispatcher to get a quick overview of the situation while the group leader of our fire engine and his team were already preparing the rescue measures. Once we reached the shore, a lifeguard from our department was able to jump into the water and swim to the injured diver. Once there, we pulled the two people out of the water with combined forces. On land, our emergency medically trained staff immediately began resuscitation of the diver. When the rescue service arrived, the patient was gradually handed over to them. While the medical care was being provided, the water rescue services also arrived and prepared to search the bathing lake with divers. At this point, it was still assumed that there was another diver in the water. Witnesses were able to confirm that the diver was alone. Unfortunately, all efforts to rescue the diver were in vain and he died on the spot. After the site was handed over to the water rescue service and the police, we were able to leave.
