Anyone have info on any of the quarries in and near Terre Haute ?

I hear the one behind Menards at 13th above Fort Harrison and the one at 25th and L

Laffayette are both private property and out of bounds. What about the one along 41

north of Fort Harrison. I see fishermen there at times. I know about most of the

well known sites in the area. Just looking for someplace close to home. Thanks.

The place behind Menards is way off limits. It use to be a dive park but due to an ongoing argument it isn't. I am sure that he would have you arrested.

As for the one along 41, there are times that I have seen the DNR out there but I doubt that they would give you any troubles. Years ago I was in it, not diving, and the DNR told us we would have to leave. I don't believe it is marked as private property. If I dove it I would take a dive knife or shears since that place has been a fishing hole for 25+ years. The south end is rather shallow.

I have heard, but never dove, one over in Toadhop. All I know is that it runs under the road and it use to be a mine.

I do have access to one in Brazil. It is a PRIVATE lake and the depth is about 20' with a sunken boat at one end. I haven't been in it but plan on doing so sometime soon.

Jim at Fun Time Scuba has access to a strip pit over in Stauton (sp). That one I know for sure that if you get caught without the right paper work the DNR and the mine is very unforgiving.
