Hi,

Are the diving conditions in Pulau Weh better in mid Aug or mid Sept? I'm not going to have to worry about crowds either time, right? I'm trying to figure out whether to dive Sipadan or PW first and hit the other later. Thanks

Hi Mj,
Not been to either but I had been thinking about Sipadan myself. Then when I started searching the net & mailing clubs in Sipadan, they all told me that, "we cannot guarantee you dive in Sipadan but we will take you there for no extra cost if the opportunity arrises" Appartently only a max. of 100 divers a day are allowed to dive in the reserve. You club you dive with writes your name on a list & hands this to the park authorities, then it's raffle. Anyway, as I said I never been there and please someone correct me if I'm wrong & I will change my trip plans. As for PW, getting half decent info is pretty hard. Check out a report I was sent from Ayeschantrell: Dive Report: Palau Weh, Banda Aceh.

Good luck & any new info you get, drop Manta man a line.
