My wife and I are coming to a wedding late July, and I can't resist the opportunity to do some diving. We are comfortable with cold temps, low vis, depths to 100' or so. We don't want to do any wreck penetration, have not done any such training, but would like to see some of the wrecks. Any suggestions?

There is some wreck diving out of the Cleveland area. However you are looking at 4-6 hour drive to really good wreck diving either in New York or Michigan. If you are interested in making the drive just shout. We dive out of Pt. Sanilac off the Great Lakes Diver every summer weekend. http: //www.thegreatlakesdiver.com/

I looked at Osprey's website. They go to some awesome sites. It looks like mostly tech dives, Some of the shallower dives look great. Nice boat too! Have you gone with them?

I've been out with them once and had a great time. Got blown out the second day. I know others on the board have gone out many times with Osprey.

I sent an email to them a week ago. So far no reply. Google said the address is closed? Hopefully this is just seasonal? Anyone hear anything?

Thunder Bay is a days drive north and I can reccomend the Grecian(100), EB Allen(100), Nordmeer(30) and a bunch of others in less than 100'.

I updated my web site's "Wreck Sites" page Thunder Bay Scuba check it out.

Also in Cleveland there is Discovery Dive Charters, and Holiday dive Charters. Both go to wrecks in Lake Erie. Price depends on how far out you go. I would recomend diving the Dundee as a relativly close to Cleveland dive. For what it's worth Osprey is not only tech, but a lot of there dives are at 100 foot or slightly deeper. Erie diving can be good or bad depending, especially near shore. If you want some more info you can PM me and I will try to answer your questions.
Aslo FYI, It is cold down there 40 to 50 all year round below 50 feet usually, and it can be low vis, but seeing an intact 100 year old wreck is worth it in my opinion.

I dove Osprey they also dive rec. the three dives I was on were about 110' and 40 to 45' vis. They are a great crew. I am going to dive with them again this year.:D
