I'm planning on going to PV in two weeks. Have done over 100 dives in other areas - mostly Carribean and Sea if Cotez, but with all the hurricanes in the Carribean, wanted to go somewhere hopefully unaffected. The last post I could find was in '05. Has anyone been there since that could recommend a dive outfit and dive sites? From what I have read so far, it isn't encouraging as far as the diving goes.

Welcom to ScubaBoard!!!

My husband and I went diving in PV this past July. We went through Vallarta Adventures and had a wonderful time. We dove at both Las Caletas and Marietas. Temps were in the mid 80's at about 40-60ft down. Viz was better at Marietas than Caletas but at Caletas after the dives we enjoyed a delicious lunch on the island that is included with the dive plus was able to lounge around until it was time to go back. However the boat trip over to Caletas included divers and non divers so it was pretty full. For Marietas the boat trip over was divers only and less crowded. The dive masters for the company make sure you have a great dive and really seem to enjoy what they do. When we go back we will go through them again. Hope the info helped you out.

Hello, you can check out on Vallarta Undersea, have many different choises on scuba trips, always take separate groups and crowds are not welcome. And let me tell you something different, they will have recreational rebreathers since late january and will be very easy to use it, now recreational diving change and open circuit will dissapear. You can read more information on rebreathers section on vallartaundersea dot com

Cheers.
