I'm planning a trip to Korea with my gf end of October and we would like to scuba in Taiwan or Okinawa or somewhere else within our skill level in that area. Our first trial dive was in Okinawa 2 years ago, so it would be nice to go again, but we would be happy diving in Taiwan or somewhere new if it seems reasonable during the time of our visit. The winds and surf look kind of iffy in Kenting, Taiwan. I reached out to a group on Green Island in Taiwan, but I don't know how easy it is to get there or if we want to go that far out of our way for a dive or two. Thanks so much!
I had very limited experiences in diving at ROC, only been to THREE different areas.
The only issue I had is the shore dive which is very very common in Green Island, Kenting and XLQ. The entrance can be brutal and thick sole is a must.
One operator in Green Island has a good dive boat but....demand and supply. Take the ferry from Taitung. The sea is notorious rough and do come prepared. I did not suffer but other passengers!!!
In XLQ(Xiao Liu Qui) big mature green turtles are guaranteed at one of the dive site. There are frequent ferry(30 mins) from Donggang which is not very far from Kaohsiung.
