Puerto Galera Information

Hi All,

I need information quick. I am heading to the Philippines for 1 week and I was planning on going to Puerto Galera

How to get to Puerto Galera from Manila Airport.
Where to stay. Any hotel recommendations? Which Dive Operator? etc, etc.

It's a last minute trip. I was thinking about going to Bohol but somebody here changed my mind.

hi bm,

try asia divers, they have accomodations and a great resto. the group dove with them a weeks back and they're just awesome. you could probably request for transfers from Manila to PG and back.

You fly in to Manila, spend a night ont he drink the PPDers, catch a lift with Spoon.. oh, hang on, that was me..

OK, seriously, fly into Manila

Catch a cab from UPSTAIRS - the departures section (much cheaper) to Buendia in Pasay, catch a bus from there to Batangas (about $100 peso-ish) then catch a banka (boat) to PG (about 200 pesos-ish I think)

I stayed at Sunsplash with a few other PPDers, and thought the place was pretty cool can't remember the cost, but about 2000 pesos for 2 nights I think...

Dived with Asia divers (great) Atlantis (best I thought) and Captain Greggs (kinda gung ho but I like that)

done, easy.

Best to arrange transport through your resort for the most convenient way to get there. Give them a call or email and see what they can do. Or if you wanna commute, it's pretty easy...

As for dive ops/hotel recos, what are you looking for? budget or comfy accomodations?

For dive ops - Atlantis and Asia divers are top notch dive ops. For budget diving, there's Captain Greggs. These are the only 3 ops I've tried there.


my reco to you is to stay at either atlantis resort or asia divers/el galleon resort. Great resorts, great dive ops.

They will pick you up at Manila airport and give you a ride/ferry directly to PG. By far the easiest and most painless way...
