There is a huge difference between Tec Wreck and Advanced Recreational Wreck. Day and night.
The best place for tec wreck training or fun dive in Philippines is in Coron where there are several big and relatively deep wrecks. Pity that Gunter has retired from tec dive over in Coron.

Depends on the instructor, agency and your skill levels - have you done the course? Do you know anyone who has? I think you implied a few months ago that there was no advanced wreck course.

I will be diving with Gunter soon :)

There is an "Advanced" Wreck course, and there is a "Technical Wreck" course. At least with NAUI, there is/was.

Advanced recreational or advanced tec wreck?
I have only done the Technical wreck course 26yrs ago(1999). IANTD only has Tech Wreck.
Dived with Gunter in 2000.

I tried to think among my buddies who had not done the Technical wreck course? Most(around 10) has with few exception.
We were all qualified Technical diver before attempting the Tec wreck course. Certainly never had to learn how to deploy a smb under water by then! Twin set with three deco tanks was nothing new.
BTW, are you Trimix certified? Because there are/were so many big and deep wrecks along both side of Malaysia Peninsular eg. HMS Prince of Wales, HMS Repulse, IJN Haguro, Luxury Liner Sun Vista, Super Tanker Seven Skies(in Indonesian water) etc etc. You are too late for some them!
HMS Hermes off the coast of Sri Lanka is still around at 50m.

Where did the deploy smb come from?

Suggest you check the Raid standards or Andy’s website for clarity.

What do you think of the two-week, two-dive resort visit or the 10-12 PG only visit?

Yup as long as you don't mind the travel time. At least it gives you time off gassing if you are doing 3 or 4 dives a day. A good friend of mine just did one week in Moalboal and another week in Bohol last month as we have friends in both locations. Then we met up in Malta last weekend but didnt do any diving.

LOL!!
Have you already forgotten what you had learnt/written in your report?

Shall I dig it out to refresh your lousy memory?

Enjoy.
What else have your forgotten about the course that you had done only few months ago?

Were you a qualified tec diver when you did the Adv Wreck course.

According to RAID standard, Adv wreck course is suitable for anyone over 15yrs old.

While it is 18yrs for Tec course. I believe this requirement is very common from most tec dive agency.

So centrals the only difference you can find is the age limit?

I used the smb example in my description of Andy’s course as it is a prerequisite skill on all / most courses in raid, something I would expect a diver of your vast experience to have known. It was not a skill I learnt then.

anyway time for you to go back on block

LOL.
In UK, 15 yrs old is NOT considered as an adult.
RAID would not let a 15yrs old to do a Tec course. You do not see the differences.

Your RAID Adv Wreck course is NOT a tec course. It is nothing but a recreational course, like it or not.
If you are a certified Tech diver, no instructor will ask the question on deploying smb!!!

Were you already a certified tec diver before you did the Adv Wreck course?

Adv Wreck is NOT a Tec course.
