@azgetaway How long do you usually stay when you visit? Is two weeks too long or too short?

Have you ever been to Anilao? Do you think it's practical to visit Anilao and PG on the same trip if you're staying for a week at each location?
Hi BoltSnap, the norm seems to be 7 nights 8 days but because of the large investment in traveling to that part of the world and the low cost of accomadations I like to book 10 days if my schedule allows.

I've not been to Ailao, Apo Reef is also accessible from PG. There is an outfit in PG that does a liveaboard to Tubbatha which I've heard is a trip of a lifetime and only done in May.

Apo Reef is accessible from PG but it is quite a distance and I do not believe any operator in PG is offering this option. It is simply NOT practical.
Tubbataha's diving season is from mid Mar to mid June.

All right guys, I've decided not to take my family, who don't dive, to PG after all. If I go, I'll plan either a two-week trip, spending one week in PG and one in Anilao, or a 10–12-day trip to PG only. I'm leaning towards the two-week option since traveling there takes two days: First, Tripoli to Istanbul, then Istanbul to Manila, and finally, Manila to PG. It's too much of a hassle to go for just one week.

A lot of these dive resorts don't offer much for the family that doesn't dive, it seems like they are 100% about the diving. I did Little Cayman in 2024 and we loved it but there is literally nothing else on that island but the scuba, which is very good for us.

I now understand, and thank you all for the information. Other destinations, such as the Maldives, Indonesia, and Egypt, do so; there is plenty to visit with family. Nice to travel by myself now and then :)

What do you think of the two-week, two-dive resort visit or the 10-12 PG only visit?

I think you're going to love BS, I like ScandI Divers, talk to Marianne I've known her since 2013 and mention my name. Bei Facebook anmelden

I also dove with the Marco Vincent and they were super awesome too.

I did 10 diving days in PG previously (staying at El Galleon) and found it about right. OTOH it was my first tropical Pacific diving. In December I will spend two weeks in Anilao for more muck/macro diving. I would be OK with two resorts, but my dive buddy does not enjoy transfers (to be fair, I am also happy to hang out and not deal with travel stuff), so we tend to stay in one place. We have also done 14 days in Sogod bay which I found superior to PG, but my buddy grumbled a bit about the extra travel. One thing we will miss in Anilao is convenient access to Verde Island, which was really the prettiest diving for reef and fish (and larger nudi's) that we experienced from PG.

That's me too d^2b, I like the well worn path to PG, the dive resort makes it easy some other destinations are more work to get to.

What "BS" am I going to like? What kind of "BS" is it?

Is diving with PG the same as diving in Anilao? If so, is there any reason to go to both?
