I called the park. They said the weather was bad and trees were falling over, so it was unsafe to open for the public.

That just makes the entrance and exit a little bit more fun Nothing like dodging trees and getting knocked around in the surf

They close it when it becomes too dangerous. Only happened a handful of times that I can remember since '67.
