Guys,

What other ttl storbe can b used for PT030 besides olympus ones? i heard that the cable that connects the strobe to the pt030 has to b compactible.

Because i don't know if it worth it buying the FL020 with its housing that will cost about US$300. Down here in Indonesia, is easy to get the FL20 but not the casing. However, i can easily get the Ikelite housing and its ttl strobe easily but i think it will cost more. By the way how much is it in the US the ttl strobe that is equivalent to the FL20.

Thanks guys in advance for your prompt replies.

I think the better solution is to replace the bulkhead on the PT-030 with the Heinrichs-Weikamp Replacement Bulkhead. This will allow you to use the housing with any Nikonos TTL strobe. I use mine with the Sea & Sea YS-90 strobe. I think this is a better solution than the FL20, as you are using a strobe and not a flash that was designed to be used on land.

OK, to get this right, what tray or arm works with the PT-030 for the Sea & Sea strobe?

Also out of the 3 below what one is the right choice.
YS-60TTL
YS-120TTL
YS-90TTL

And lastly, what cable should we use to connect the Heinrichs-Weikamp Replacement Bulkhead from camera to the strobe.

Sorry for all of the questions but I want to make sure I get it right.

We have the YS-90 Auto (TTL) strobe although any of the 3 you list will work so it really comes down to how much money you want to spend. You can check this page to check all the strobes that will work. When you click on the strobe name, it will show you the cameras that it works with. The SP-350 is very good for working with many of the strobes.

The cable we use is the Sea & Sea TTL Sync Cable for a Nikonos bulk head. This has the Nikonos end on it for the camera, and the Sea & Sea end on it for their strobes. Depending on the brand of strobe you go with, you just get the sync cable for that brand with the Nikonos bulk head end. This allows you to use Sea & Sea, Inon, Ikelite, etc.

As far as Tray and arms, that is really a personal preference, but I would suggest you get one that allows ease of use, durability, and options. We use the Ultra Light trays and arms which we really like. If you end up with the Inon adapter on the camera for a wet wide angle lense, the Ultra Light can handle that as well.

If you want to talk to a retailer that carries everything and can help you design a system for your needs, call Ryan at Reefphoto.com and he can fix you up at a pretty good price.
