The hoses on all of my pressure washers have non removable hose protectors/strain relief on both ends as do many of my garden hoses - likely as extra protection from kinking!
Interesting. I was thinking more about more extreme industrial applications than garden hoses.

I just checked and both of my garden hoses have non removable molded in "protectors" brightly decorated with the hose brand name. Seems like a marketing opportunity to me?

I always removed the hose protectors from my old rubber hoses but my braided hoses sure seem to kink tight at the 1st stage. I agree that it happens during storage, not use but I'd rather have something to keep the radius up.

3000 + psi pressure washers are not garden hoses... and there is no branding on any of the hose protectors on mine.

And I’ve kinked many an old garden hose at the end connection pulling the hose too far - my newer hoses with strain protectors help prevent that from happening or happening as severely - marketing opportunity or not.
