I am coming from Greece in about a month and i would like to dive your kelp forests.I am gonna stay in loma Linda but i will go to San Diego also. Please tell which are the best dive sites in the area which i shouldnt miss.Any dive clubs i can dive with.Any information is very helpfull.

I'm VERY close to loma linda. If I have a day off I can show ya to a good boat or the Casino Point Dive park. Just let me know dates.

I am gonna arrive at the 8th of August until the 27th.I searched on the web and i found Loiss Ann but the problem is that i need a guide cause i dont want to dive alone.I believe i am experienced but i dont want to dive alone in unknown waters.

I had good experience with Sundiver. I am sure if you call them they can either hook you up with experienced buddy or help you hire a DM.

Dive a bit north to Oxnard and dive Anacapa island

I also reccomend the Sundiver Express charter boat from Long Beach, CA. They do half day trips out to Catalina so you don't end up using up a whole day. Dive Boat Sundiver

If you are going to San Diego you should look at going out on the Lois Ann dive boat. They go to the Yukon wreck and Point Loma has some decent kelp beds. If you don't have the money for a boat trip there is the Laguna Beach coast Laguna Sea Sports or you can dive La Jolla in San Diego Scuba Diving at La Jolla Cove

Well I'm sure to have at least a couple available dive days during your stay. I'm about 10 minutes from Loma Linda. You're more experienced than I am so I don't know who will be guiding who. :D Lois Ann has a great crew. San Diego is about 100 miles from you and usually goes to wreck alley (Yukon & Ruby E).

Sundiver also has great crews (multiple boats). Magician is a favorite. Always seems to find great sites, great condition boat, Nitrox, etc. Check out California Dive Boats : The Official Page and you'll see more info. If you can dive during the week, even better. Less crowds, less students, etc.

The Casino Point Dive Park is also worth doing for a first time kelp diver. Very easy to navigate, open water, small sunken boats, mini wall, etc.

For San Diego area, I'd recommend the Horizon boat and a trip to San Clemente Island. August's water temperature is very warm at Catalina and usually the kelps would have withered and died off. I had great kelp diving experience even in the middle of September at San Clemente Island.

The Horizon boat is new, spacious and runs a first class operation. They also have Nitrox and you'd want Nitrox if you were to dive at San Clemente. Most of the good dive sites at San Clemente are around 80-ft (25-m) plus in depth

You would not be disappointed if you get to dive a kelp forest. One of these days I'd like to dive in either the Ionian or Aegean Sea.

Horizon Charters: 2010 Schedule

Also, any of these dive boats can provide you with a personal dive master/dive guide if you were to request for one in advance...at additional cost, of course.
