i have a henderson 5/3 hyperstretch hood that its my big *** coconut and neck similar to what you're describing. the loose neck isnt really a problem, it allows ease of movement and comfort. you dont want a hood thats too tight on your head because of equalization problems. as long as its snug on your head, fits close to your face, and a lil free on the neck it sounds like a good fit to me!

What type of hood is this?

My problem is that my neck is about the same size as my waist. Most hoods that fit my fat head, cause a choking sensation in my neck, so I use a beanie.

Hyperstretch (by Henderson) is a stretchy neoprene material, so it stretches out a little bit and has some give to it so it's all around more comfortable. It's easier to put on, and feel better than a normal hood once they are on (in my opinion anyways). Henderson sells hyperstretch wetsuits, gloves, hoods, etc... which people love becuase they're generally alot easier to put on then a normal neoprene wetsuit that doesn't have any give to it. All I have is a hood, and I think it's great.

I have a similar question...I tried on a Henderson AquaLock 7/5mm hooded vest...and at first I thought it fit well, but after a few minutes the veins in my forehead started bulging out...I've never worn a hood before but I'm guessing this isn't a good sign?
