My guess is that your question hinges on a misunderstanding about what it is they are actually offering to do. I don't think she would do Discover Scuba *prior* to diving. The dives would be conducted *as a part of* the Discover Scuba program, under supervision of the instructor.
Discover Scuba does not give the student any qualifications to dive outside the scope of the Discover Scuba program or without the instructor.
