I bought a brand new UK D8 from a guy -- basically like an ebay or craigslist sale and I can't give it back.

It was new in box, with all the plastic wrap intact, even the items in the box were in bags and sealed.

I cannot figure out how to attach the pistol grip! The instructions say to slide it into the cannister slot, which fits no problem. It then says to insert a screwdriver through the bottom of the grip to tighten the screw into the cannister. The problem is twofold:

1. There's no screw in the pistol grip, just a threaded screw hole. I know I didn't accidentally throw away a screw, it's just missing. I'm sure I could find a replacement at a hardware store but . . .

2. There's no threaded screw hole in the cannister itself -- just smooth plastic along the entire slot on the cannister. (Yes, I looked on both sides of the cannister!)

Am I missing something obvious? I may have to take it to a shop, but since I bought it gray market, am I out of luck if this thing is simply a defect? The light works just fine, very bright, but without a handle attached it's useless to me.

Thanks for any advice.

The only thing you're missing is a screw.(from the light that is. :)

No there should not be a hole in the cannister, just turn the screw untill it comes in contact with the cannister. Thus preventing the handle from slipping of the cannister.

There should be a recessed allen screw in the handle. Simply position the handle where you want it and tighten is slightly. It does not need to go into any hole in the light....simple friction holds it in place.

If the allen screw is missing, they should be pretty easy to find at a hardware store. Thanks.

I think there was a plastic or nylon button that went into the hole first, then the screw tightened onto this and forced it onto the groove of the light. This way, the screw did not damage the housing.
