Chuck, if you scroll up to Pt Reyes and then go out a bit you can see Cordell Banks as an area of relief just before the dropoff.

BTW, I know you know where it is, just thought the relief on the map was pretty clear.

On which map? There's one of Pt. Lobos and one of the Great Lakes.
None get's near Cordell Banks.

rhlee's pointer to the great lakes map, immediately preceding my post. I understand the confusion. Perhaps I should have said scroll over.

If you load OntarioTest (Google Maps Export from Global Mapper)

and then zoom out, then move the view to the west coast you get a very clear rendering of ocean floor topography. Check it out. The Monterey canyon also looks very cool.
