Thought this may be helpful - I often use BAUE's google maps mashup to look up dive sites and plan navigational routes, and always wished there was a high-res, printable version I could use off-line.

Now there is! Check out

Point Lobos Underwater Maps and click on the "Printable map of Whaler's Cove"

Here's a lower-resolution preview:

The lower right quadrant is probably the most useful for us recreational divers.

More maps of popular Monterey sites to come soon!

Now that is awesome. I wish someone would do that for the lakes in this area.

thanks for tracking that down - very useful!

now I only need to figure out how I get it to print on one page.....

Oops. I made it so it prints at 8" x 8.5" at ~200dpi, but now that I think about it, that only works if your printer does borderless printing. We'll get an updated version up, but in the meantime PM me your email and I'll send you a copy that should print on a normal page.

that is so cool, Cordell banks are there clear as day.

Please note: the printable version that Kenn made is corrected for the angle of declination, so that magnetic north and "up" line up. The version on the BAUE site is aligned to "true" north, with magnetic north indicated by a directional arrow in the corner.

HUH? Nothing mentioned here covers Cordell Banks.

BTW, NorCal divers, we are spoiled rotten due to the proximity
of the Cal State Monterey Bay Seafloor Mapping Lab, which has
produced all the nice 2M resolution bathymetry that drives these
pretty pictures.
