I came down on Wednesday night with plans for 4 days of diving. I did a 2 tank with JDC on Thursday morning. It started off calm enough but built continuously and ended pretty rough. The dives at Captain Mike's and Bluffs were superb. Visibility was 50-60 feet, water temp was 77-79, mild North current. Several Reef Sharks, Goliath Grouper, turtles, Southern Rays and the usual reef suspects including many gorgeous Rainbow Parrots. I had the 3 tanker scheduled with JDC on Friday but it and the 2 tank were cancelled due to high seas. Nobody went out of Boynton Beach.

I went out of Boynton Beach this morning and did two tanks with Loggerhead. They were the only operator out of BB. Started off with moderate seas, built a bit as we got further South but it was worth it. Dives at Delray Ledges and Clubhouse were excellent. Vis was 60+ feet, water temp 78-79 degrees, moderate South current. At Clubhouse, strong East wind and surface current made for a lot of work to stay on the reef with the flag. Several Nurse Sharks and turtles were the highlights of these great dives.

Hope to get in at least 2, if not 4, dives out of BB tomorrow. The wind and seas are predicted to cooperate to some degree. We'll give it a try.

Best of luck to you Scubadada! It's so frustrating, but nothing can battle mother nature :catfight:

We battled it on both trips this year...hoping next year is going to be MUCH better :D

Wow, I got really lucky today. Did a 2 tank morning dive with Underwater Explorers and a 2 tank afternoon dive with Starfish. Morning dives included the Castor and Black Condo. The former had the usual resident Goliath Grouper and big Barracuda. The latter was a signature Boynton Beach reef drift. The water was 78-9 degrees with about 40-50 ft vis. Seas were moderate 3-5 ft.

The afternoon was slightly calmer, maybe 2-4 ft. Did 2 great drifts, Gulfstream to Black Condo and Gazebo. Water was 79 degrees and vis was 40-50 feet. The usual reef denizens were all present with a rare appearance of a Queen Triggerfish.

I'm lucky to have gotten in 8 dives over this long weekend. Capt Mike of JDC, Capt Jim of Loggerhead, Capt Kevin of Underwater Explorers, and Capt Maya of Starfish all did a stellar job of getting me out for such an enjoyable time, thanks.

See you next year

Good diving, Craig
