Well my Instructor is very good and had been doing this for a very long and he thinks I am ready for the course so I'm going to trust him. He is not the average instructor

You know this because of the multitude of other cave instructors you've had experience with?

I actually have had a different instructor for cavern and intro, this thread is out of hand. People criticizing me for wanting proper training. Only one person has answered my question. I am done with this thread.

... or a pattern of too far too fast has been a reoccuring trend that has possibly gotten a few people killed in recent years. Experience between levels will only help you in your future training.

Don't be in a hurry.

Any decent instructor will be able to tell if you are ready for the next level.

No one is going to be the perfect student during class (with the possible exception of ME of course) and there is no reason to expect if from yourself. It is a training class after all. Bouyancy and Trim are about the only things that you really need to have dialed in before class. The other skills and drills will all rely on that and it will alll come together just fine in the end.

Some will tell you to go slow and not be in a hurry. There is good sense in this because it gives you time to build the experience to deal with the more challenging dives that are ahead of you. I did not take that route however, I went from zero to hero during a 1 week course on a rebreather. No OC cave training at all. Was that the smartest thing? Depends on what you do after training! The c-card does not mean that you are perfect and know it all, it just means that you have the minimum knowledge and skills to proceed into the caves and continue learning.

We all have our own comfort levels and abilities. Do not go past yours.

I say go for it. If YOU feel like you're ready go for it.

How many cave students have you had again?

:D

This is a horrible example. You were an accomplished diver already with solid tek diving skills.
A new person has no buisness doing it that fast. It seems to.me more and more cave agencies and instructors are becoming more like Padi. Get the money, screw the caliber or diver they are turning out and I have seen some real doozies in the last year.

Sad that this guy doesn't take the advice from people that are
giving it to him in an attempt to make him a better diver.
No more, no less.

I have had interaction with most if not all those that tried.
Trust me, they all mean well by it, and only have your health and well being in mind.

Oh, and perhaps they are tired of body recoveries that tend
to go along with the Macho "Zero to Hero" attitudes.
