Hello All;

Well, is time to retire my fins and buy a new pair. I am a strong swimmer so I was looking at something with power. I am probably going the tech way in a few month so maybe that should influence my choice. I would appreciate it if you guys with strong fin give me your recommendations...Thanks and I am out for a dive...

I like Jet Fins better than anything else. I tried splits way back when they first came out and promptly went back to my old ScubaPro jets.

I had a pair of Forcefin Pros, which is stiffer than regular model, before I bought my splitfins (Tusa Xpert Zoom SP8). It definitely had more "power" (as in forceful or delivers more thrust per kick). They are more stable than splitfins in that I can do large kick swings. They have a large foot pocket that doesn't cause cramps (unlike some paddle fins I've used). However some people absolutely hate Forcefins, so I would recommend you borrow/rent/try before buying.
Dive safely.

I'll second the recommendation to try a pair of Jetfins. Not only do they deliver the power, but they're great for doing alternative kicks other than the flutter kick.

I have a set of splits and Jets...I wear them at different times for different things. Splits for no current, slow swimming, mostly when diving with my wife checking out fish. Jets learning new kicks, current any time you might have to get there in a hurry.

Thank you guys;

It is amazing how the jetfins are popular despites their age. Again yesterday when I was diving the serious divers in the boat all had Jet fins....what make them so good?

I think it's because they are short, stiff, and wide. They don't flop around and do their own thing. For me, they feel like they are an extension of my foot and respond to both ankle and leg movements. It's their stiffness that allows for efficient alternative kicks.

I have a pare of Mares Volo Power fins. Sweetness on your feetness...thats all I have to say about that...

If your going to wear a dry suit and wear heavy boots look at the turtles a copy of the jet fin with a wide ft pocket for rock boots. For more rec and not tech I say one fin that beats them all PERIOD. Even the Scubapro Jet Fin which I had 2 pairs I dove for years ... sorry guys I can make an objective pick here since I owned both. The BEST FINS OUT THERE IS THE APOLLOS ... even Scuba Labs confirms it lol.

They are not like the others splits on the market you have to try them to see the difference. When you first use them you'll think this is to easy and I can't be going anywhere. So get a friend get in a pool have your buddy time you between fins. Speed, then after the Apollos smoke the rest try carrying something heavy and see which fin has the muscle to move you.

After this take your Research Specialty and have your Instructor to use your research on the fins, it is diving related lol.
