Sooo. All those with the appropriate level of training. I was thinking about hanging a bottle of 100% and just doing one loooong dive instead to two shorter ones. Probalby bring the 72's or the 80's. Maybe 60mins at 100 and the appropriate deco. Anyone interested?

Im in too, its been too long since I got wet.

Must admit I'd be interested since I've never dived the Yukon, but I won't know if I can make this one (do still plan to do the LJS dives the day before).

Calvin's new wrist seals won't be done until May 16, even with the order rushed - DUI has some people out right now, darn it all. Suppose there's a chance it could be done early, but we decided to cancel for the 13th and rebook for another day...we're doing the Yukon and Ruby E on June 30... Thought we'd take our first trip to Disneyland that weekend instead (suppose a brief early am Wrinkles Dive is a possibility on Saturday before we leave...)

Have a great time, guys - and if you want, come join us on June 30!!

Well this was to be my 7th dive in 6 days and I must say the snooze button took a beating today but I was glad I got up.....eventually.

Met up with a bunch of the locals and some of the LA crowd for a nice dive on the Yukon today. Skys were clearing already as we loaded the boat and headed out of the channel. The sea's were mostly calm with slight swell. No one got ill today which I always count as a bonus.

Plan of the day was for Jen and I to do one longer dive instead of the normal two shorter ones. Total bottom was set to 60 minutes and that would give us about 15 minutes deco on the line. We used 34% for back gas and 100% for the final stop at 20ft. We put a bottle of 50% at the line for contingent emergency gas and off we went. The visibility was nice today. Probably close to 25ft in a lot of places. Only a very slight surge which always makes taking photos easier. Jen I dropped down the 'side' and explored forward to the bow and then back over the 'top' and aft along the crows nest and forward guns. Lots of life out today including my first Cuthona Divae and a couple of other interesting little things.

It was COLD. Didn't really notice it at first...drysuit....drygloves...thick hood...but after about 40 minutes I was thinking two things. Man...it's cold down here and "I am so glad my drysuit has plumbing..." So at about 59 minutes we were back at the line. I clipped off the extra bottle and we started our slow crawl to the surface. At our stop at 40ft I couldt still see the wreck extending out in both directions...nice. Gas switch went flawlessly at 20ft, switched the computer from 34% to 100% and watched the mandatory deco drop from 17 minuted to 9. NICE. Cruised through that while watching the ocean drift by and reliving the dive in my head. At 15ft we were in a sea of mocha and bits of floaty muck...mmmmmmm. Then we were back on the surface. Total run time was 85 minutes.

Then it was off to Phils for bbq and a beverage. Good dives.

Special thanks to Jen for being my long dive buddy and to Josh for the loan of a lovely bit of fashion so I could go to lunch.

Just the way I like my boat dives, surrounded by men, I was lucky enough to have Rick, Josh, and Rickster all to myself for dive 1 and then Rick and Josh for dive 2, got my fancy tickled with bubbles on the ascent for my first dive, and best of all got to accompany Rickster on his first Yukon dive. Just gonna share 2 photos, Rickster on his first Yukon dive and Rick and Josh with perfect trim and in unison.

Thank you, Kim, for being the best buddy, and making this an enjoyable 1st dive on the Yukon. Thanks Rick for showing me 2/3rds of the ship in one dive, it was great. And thanks Josh for the fun conversations, We are going to have to do it again.

Rick
