Possum Kingdom diving

Thinking about hitting up possum kingdom this weekend, can anyone give me any information on the area for shore diving? good spots, depth, vis, are there any web sites with maps, stuff like that, thanks!

Viz is usually terrible anytime after say 8:00 a.m. due to the number of OW classes that go there for cert. dives. But, there are some nice things to see, if you get in early, and don't kick up the silt :11:

Possum Kingdom State Park 10AM-4PM
We will be leaving the shop at 8:00am if you want to convoy to PK State Park with us.

You know, you guys just may find some old helicopters on the bottom of the Possum if you're lucky.

Well we found the usual--- cans,,bottles,,fishing line,,lures,,fishing pole with open reel,,kids size scuba mask,,bread bags,,car parts used as anchors,,foam blocks,,paint roller,,a really nice anchor $$,,string by the yard,,tennis shoes,,plastic cups,,golf ball,,coat hangers&wire............ we were in a small cove off some camp sites in 7' to 23'.

I know for a fact that back in the late 60's and early 70 there were one or two helicopters that took the plunge from Ft. Wolters.

Guess the Army retrieved them from the depths . . . .
