I have just bought a new set of Halcyon Piooner wings...

I used them for 10 dives in Sharm El Sheikh without any problem last week...

The day before leaving I washed and dried the wings as I have always done...

As soon as I retuned home I put my BP/W on a hanger and orally inflate the wings to the maximum...
The day after I checked the wings and noticed that they were partially deflated...

I did not noticed any punctuations while I washed my wings (no bubbles) in the bathtub not I am hearing any hissing now if I squeeze the wings...
I also checked the OPV but it seems ok...

I must admit I am a little bit worried now...

Could it be that air is going out throught the power inflator ???

What should I do ???

Please help...

Inflate it and sink it in a tub of water. Once in a while a little sand can work it's way into places it should'nt be, and will cause a little bypass. It may just need cleaning to clear out the offending particle. As long as you don't have a problem with the bladder itself, it's no biggie. good luck!

I hoped it was the power inflator but it wasn't...

The bladder has only ten dives but there is a very tiny hole in the upper part...

What should I do now ???

Repair it ???
How ???

Or...

Send it back to where I bought it ???
Problem is that I bought it in Germany and I live in Italy...

Send it back to Germany and receiving it back will cost me around 50 USD and I do not know if they want to send a new one, I did not check it for holes/punctuations when I received it...
They could say that the bladder was ok when it left their shop and that I punctuated it while using it...

Pls help...

If you have found an actual puncture I'd send it back for repair/replacement being that new. Is there sign of external damage/abuse?

Leaks have a way of growing and no good can from not getting it corrected.

No sign of external damage/abuse at all !!!
It's perfect !!!

The fabric looks shiny and new and I treated it very well...

I have just sent an e-mail to the shop in Germany and to Halcyon Italy, let's hope for the best...

The problem with this kind of things is that, we, divers, are stange beasts, if they repair the problem with glue or whatever I will always think while I dive that my the bladder was repaired and that a possible problem could happen...
Moreover I will be temped to sell it asap and buy a brand new one wasting lots of money...

If they send a new one everything would be better but I think I will start looking for something more robust, it seems that this wing is prone to punctuations...

Pls don't forget that I paid 321 Euro for this wing and that my money were good...

I have the eclipse and the power inflator was recalled. I have had a slow leak forever. I had it replaced and now the tiny o-ring in the inflator is leaking. Other than that, I love it. Check that stainless steel inflator assembly.I deal with Great lakes Divers in Michigan even from Hawaii because they have great customer service and a very knowledgable on Halcyon.

If you return it to Halcyon they will not repair/patch it. They will send you a new one. Whether or not they warranty it is the question. That will depend on their evaluation of the wing.

If they won't warranty it, you can repair it yourself with some aquaseal. Though the manufacturer will not do this... or recommend doing it... it will work for small holes... and it will work very well.

... prone to punctuations??????!!!!! :D

... maybe. In my experience, the old-style Pioneer wings have held up very well. Mine have held up for 5 years without a single problem. They're hard to beat if you're looking for a single layer wing that folds up and packs well or that has the smallest profile for warm water diving. Oxycheck makes a similar wing... might even be better than the Pioneer.

Seems like I remember a while back when shipping staples were puncturing some new Halcyon wings. Does it look like it might have come from a staple?

Your best bet is to phone Halcyon. and speak to them directly. Explain to them what you have told us, and see what they offer. In my experience, they have been good to deal with. Good luck!
Dave.

I got in touch with Halcyon Italy and they told me that they cannot do anything.

I bought my wing in Germany at a lower price that I would have paid in Italy and apparently this shop is not an authorized dealer and they (Halcyon) are fighting it because they are selling at a lower price...
The guy on the phone told me something that sounded like :"We will make them stop sell our gear at a lower price"...

Bottom line is that if this shop in Germany does not offer support I will have to repair the wing myself...

You can image how happy I am to dive with a repaired wing, it makes me want to throw it in the dustbin a buy a new one...

The problem is that Germany is a little bit far away from my home !!!
