Thanks everyone for all the responses. I will put plenty to use. Hoping to begin shooting in the fall.

Since it is an independent flick, these are non-paying gigs, however credit is issued and a copy of the final product.

We're going to submit to film festivals. The Houston Film industry is growing in terms of professional participation, technique, and contacts. If all goes better than expected, I would like to turn into a feature length.

New to Texas.
Needs:

3) Location help -Since I'm new to the state, any Texas lakes that have islands?

I don't know about the diving there, but Lake Texoma has several islands.

Thanks for the Info....there 'may' not be a lot of underwater footage, but some divers will need to work underwater for some limited actions and effects.

Lake Amistad (Del Rio, Texas) has islands in the middle of the lake. Great viz (30+ during winter and spring seasons.

While Texoma might be good for the surface shots, I don't think you'd be able to do any underwater. The lake is essentially the Red River, after all...way too much silt for anything more than a foot or so of vis. However, he did say there were only a few underwater shots called for.
