Good Morning,

A few of us are skipping out on Friday to go dive Friday and Saturday. We will be camping and generally just hanging out. If anyone is down there stop by. I should be in a black 4 door wrangler. We will have a Sea-Side Dive shop sign up in our camp site. We usually camp right on the beach. The VW is still in the garage and due to the lack of extra funds may reside their this summer.

Stop by for a burger or go for a swim us.

looking at the Portage website it says Diving starts the 23rd... Sat.

sure we can dive there Friday ?

Good question. I will call down in a bit. May have to dive Whitestar tomorrow and Portage Saturday. Give me a few. Just waking up.

This is one of those cases where the a$$ in assume applies to me. I just figured that Portage and Whitestar would make Friday as the opening of the Memorial Day Weekend. I did not realize that my dive crew and I were the only people in the region who were taking Friday off and trying to get a four day holiday weekend. We were hoping to do a night dive on Friday but since Portage does not appear to be open and Whitestar is waiting till Saturady to allowing night dives, it appears that is not happening.

So scrap meeting us for this weekend. We may head to Gilboa for the next two days for diving. At least Mike acknowledges that weekends begin on Fridays for a few divers.

I guess what is most annoying about this is that the dive season in this region starts in early April. The bottom temp in the quarries are not going to increase by more then 10 degrees in the next few months. Why Portage and Whitestar do not tweak their schedules to accomodate maximum usage I do not know. Oh well it is time to hit the charters anyway.
