OK, So I got a pony setup and found super pony tamers for a steal.
Hooking these things up, I dont know if I like the extra weight on my back and to the side like that.

Now I know most sling from the bottom left to the upper right and say its comfortable, but I was thinking about trying to slin from left lower to right lower and have a fanny pack looking pony mount like that.
Anyone have opinions about this?

I know this prob beaten to death, but Im trying to figure out a somewhat comfortable setup. I think the pony tamers are going to be a major pain with the tank strap and that stuff.

Unless you have some sort of back plate extension to anchor it to it seems like it would want to teeter on your touche.

What size cylinder are we talking about by the way?

30cft
IM talking about slinging it like across my waist/crotch area. Seems like it would be comfortable there and not get in the way, but make me waist heavy? Maybe hang low?

Anyone have pics of their hip to chest sling? Or even a lower front sling like Im talking about?

Down across in the front was mentioned a few days ago in another thread. It's an unforgiving place to hang a regulator for sure. It will be hard to bind it up close enough to let you get near things.

Mine's only a 19CF and I don't have any photos yet.

It will interfere with removal of the tank underwater, I think. How will you ditch lead if you need to? I suspect that you have not tried the pony tamer in the water, Your tank will be close to neutral so the asymmetrical weighting on the surface will be pretty much resolved underwtaer

I havent tried it in the water yet. The main part of it is getting it to not get in the way of the tank strap. Also it feels backheavy.
I guess Ill try it and see how it goes. Just seems like more of a pain then its made to be.

I would imagine that slinging a tank perpendicular across your waist/hip area would generate alot of drag.

I have been scratching my head for a week on how to sling this 30 myself.....pics would be a great thing if anybody had some

Do a "pony sling" search in the DIY section. I thihk it will lead you to some examples.
