The Zeagle webiste says 13 cu ft max, but you can pretty well hang a Maytag off of a Zeagle. Lord knows, people have.

Most people here think a "slung" 30 cu ft is the bare minimum, many folks like Spare Airs or pink snorkels. You'll hear all sorts of advice. The 6 cu ft units are great for inflating tires, too.

You can put a 13 in the pony bag...I have a Police Dive Team that has 19cu/ft in this bag.....they have Rangers

Bag Style
Band Style

This weekend we had the band style with a 13cu/ft and the 13 is a little to small(length) for a Ranger(we had it on a LTD)....We just snugged the band around the neck and tightened it...still worked fine, and was completely secure 100%, but a longer tank would fit better ;) with both bands snug properly around the tank body...but would still be just as secure....I can take a pic tomorrow if you want? We are heading back from a long weekend at Mermet, and Im in the car now.....but can snap some pics tomorrow of the setup on a LTD..

No worries....Im about 170 miles from the shop right now...going to unload and then go home. Mondays are usually swamped, so Im going to snap a quick pic tonight, I should be able to get to you in a few hours or in the morning ;)

Looks don't count for much.

You need to decide what depth you want to be able to recover from and and what sort of margins are acceptable to you. Here is an old post where I worked up a pony capacity. You can pick your own values and see where you land. After that you can decide where and how to carry it.

I'm curious about the idea of a 6 ft2 pony. Under what circumstances is this a win vs. sharing air with your buddy or an emergency swimming ascent? I worry that it might not provide enough air to ascend slowly from deep dives, and on shallow dives the simplest and best option is to abort the dive by ascending immediately.

Meanwhile, the pony is one more pice of equipment to carry, along with extra hoses, regs, and gauges that will add complexity in the case of an emergency. Of course, the benefits may outweigh the hassle.

So... how do people see the advantages of a 6 ft2 pony?
